Perils of a non-Hindi speaking South Indian in NORTH INDIA – Part II

In the chain of stops that define the path of Sampak Kranti Express, Tiruchirappalli was a minor stop which meant the train will leave at least in half an hour from the time of halt. Lambu and Chotu had not much difficulty in finding out their compartment, but difficulty started once they entered the 3rd AC compartment. It was around 3:40am in the morning and everyone was fast asleep. There were only zero watt bulbs illuminating the walkway and on both sides passengers had drawn close their curtains.

Lambu, who was walking in front, located the seat numbers with the help of indicators in the pathway. They ripped open the curtains, silently unloaded their baggage and stuffed them in the space they made by juggling the luggage of sleeping co-passengers. Both had reserved upper-berths. In the darkness, Lambu threw his laptop bag onto his berth. Suddenly the whole compartment woke-up to a wake-up call “*hen*hod” that echoed and re-echoed throughout the compartment. Lambu hurriedly apologised and took back his laptop bag. He turned around to leave, only to see, in the faint light of the zero watts, two eyes twinkling with evil designs. John rushed to his mind and told “Ab sher badla!!”

Thanking the indicator for misdirecting and arranging for a great welcome greeting, they went to the neighbouring set of berths. They kept the laptop bags on the upper-berths first and then repeated the damn process of juggling the luggage of their co-passengers to make way for their own. To check the space available for luggage under the lowest berth, Chotu lifted up one side of the blanket that was hanging down. Suddenly a lot prayers followed by curses, in Tamil, flowed out, first from the lowest berth and then from the neighbouring berths. Chotu was terrified and apologised in English. “Buhuhuhuha ha ha ha ha.....” Lambu laughed heartily in his mind and gave Chotu a “Sher ko shikari chooha banadiya!!” look.

Finally, with everything settled, both went to sleep. At around five o’clock in the morning the man-in-the-black-suit came to wake everyone up. From the floor, Chotu’s berth seemed unoccupied. The man-in-the-black-suit saw Lambu’s feet sticking out of the berth and pulled it hard. Lambu got up with a jerk. When asked for the ticket, he told in semi-consciousness “No ticket.... No ticket.....” and went back to sleep. The man-in-the-black-suit got angry and started showcasing his Tamil vocabulary. The commotion woke-up Chotu who showed the SMS he received from IRCTC.

The next morning morning began at 1pm for Lambu. Their neighbours, two old Tamil couples, were discussing about Lambu’s faceoff with the feared-by-all man-in-the-black-suit. On overhearing this, it dawned on Lambu that the beggar he shooed away the previous night was none other than the TTR. Thinking this is the time to gain some free respect, Lambu got down from the upper-berth and sat on one side of the lower-berth. As soon as the couples saw Lambu, they started laughing with the merriness of a three year old on seeing a caged monkey!! They started discussing about the previous day’s incident again in full vigour by making comparisons with comedians and jokers in south Indian movie industry. When Lambu thought he can take it no more, he dropped the bomb “Excuse me... Are you from Trichy? It is good to have south Indians around.” The couples asked in shock “Ungalkku Tamil theriyyuma?” Lambu replied in his broken Tamil “Konjam konjam theriyum... naan vanthu Malayali.” The couples, thus enlightened about the depth of their dumbness, gave a sheepish smile and changed the topic.

All day long, Lambu who is a Facebook Addict sat with his laptop and dongle, cursing the service provider, government and naxalites for lack of development in the country, whenever the range dimmed. Chotu slept the whole day, provoking comments from the old couples about the hangover caused due to sleepless nights in IIMs (poke tongue) which they apparently came to know from someone who is related to them through a family-line with a lot of complex hair-pin curves, waking-up only to eat.

Next day, Lambu woke-up again at 1pm and saw Chotu in the neighbouring upper-birth lying face-up staring at the blank white wall in a trance.  Lambu enquired what the reason was and Chotu said “I am worried about internship. This is my first experience and I do not know what I am going to do and whether I am fit for marketing.” Lambu consoled Chotu and both had lunch. The train had stopped at a station somewhere in Uttar Pradesh. Both of them got down to buy some cold drinks and snacks for evening. Lambu enquired about the price in broken Hindi and the shopkeeper replied in Hindi. Lambu said “Sorry, no change!” shut his wallet and asked Chotu to take care of it. Chotu asked -”165?” and was about to pay when Lambu checked the prices of each and found out MRP was just three fourth of that amount. Both got alerted of the harsh world out there waiting for them, where the careless will be clueless of what hit them. They paid the actual amount and continued their travel to the capital city.

Perils of a non-Hindi speaking South Indian in NORTH INDIA – Part I

It was a morning of gloom and laggardness, or rather a night for the still-unawake-sun and snoring rickshaw drivers.  Two friends or to-be-very-good-friends walked in through the gate of Tiruchirappalli Central Railway station. One was a tall and fair guy who was gifted with the power of invisibility when viewed from a distance in the early morning light. The other person was rather a kid than a man who ended up in a premier institute because of the excessive analytical skills he possesses, which even he came to know after obtaining the results.

Now, my dear readers let me tell you that the hero of this story is not a ‘filmy’ hero. He has no superhuman qualities but became hero of this story only because this story revolves around his experiences during two months of his stay in North India. He is a Malayali; he is tall and fair. Yes, he is the above mentioned person who walked in with the kid into Tiruchirappalli railway station. Let us call him ‘Lambu’, the name by which he became popularly known among his superiors, friends and even strangers. Following the pattern, let us call the kid as ‘Chotu’.

Lambu and Chotu reached the entrance of the station and that is when Chotu remembered “Oh... I forgot to withdraw cash from ATM!”. Cursing the stars, blood-sucking porters and pestering mosquitoes they again walked, dragging the load of all the text books that they did not get time to read during first year like an albatross in the physical sense, towards the gate where there are a couple of ATMs. It is a well-known fact that in places of high temperature, to provide effective security to the ATM machines, the guards at times sit inside the ATM enclosure. But in one of the ATMs, the guard decided to take it to the next level by closing the shutter half way.

After withdrawing cash from the only guard-free ATM, they walked to the station and enquired about their train timings at the information desk. The sleepy officer, angry to be disturbed, asked them in Tamil to refer the board kept somewhere in the first platform for details. Chotu was taken aback thinking the officer just abused all his ancestors in some alien language. Lambu, after his usual fit of laughter which occurs frequently and even without much provocation, explained what the officer said. Chotu was not impressed with Lambu’s outbreak of laughter.  He made it clear with a look of ‘Don’t be very happy mate... your territory ends here and mine will begin soon...’ with a John-Abraham-touch when John says ‘Jungle ka sher badlega’.

Both went over to the nearby store to buy coffee and snacks to pass time until ‘Sampark Kranti Express’, which was competing to beat its own best delay time, reached. The waiting area near the coffee shop was full with passengers who were hopeful of boarding their trains on time. A young mother was having a tough time with her baby who was crying at the top of its (pardon the usage but don’t know whether the baby was a he or a she) voice. Chotu gave a look of despair, rolled his eyes and commented, in a false deep voice, shaking his head - “These kids...”. This was enough to set Lambu on his next course of laughter with another comment “Look who is talking!”. Honouring all the prayers Lambu had chanted till then, their train reached the station and diverted Chotu’s attention from him, thereby saving him from a few punches at the level of his stomach. They boarded the train and set off on a long journey to the capital of India, New Delhi.

ravings of a redundant mind(PART-1).....

ravings of a redundant mind(PART-1).....

Once you start thinking, you will realize how much fun it is to just sit back and observe the way in which human mind works.......

***An old man who is too old even to walk curses all the young kids who plays cricket in the neighbourhood and shrills at the top of  their voices. He curses the children and also their Parents for bringing up them in this manner. At that time he hears his grandson of age seven singing "Sheela..... Sheela ki jawani....." :-O

***There is a category of guys with enormously big hearts and outstandingly small brains. . . . . Let us refer to them for the time being bozos (if you know what it means) ;-P
When do bozos get depressed??
Options :
a)  When he..... wait a sec pleaZeee...... Do you actually need options to answer this exceedingly simple question??
No not when he fails in his exam...... Exams come and go......
No not when he gets hurt....... It is just a matter of time, will get well soon.....
No not when he gets scolded......... ha ha ha....... lolzZZZzzzz.......  :-P
No not even when his crush turns him down or when he misses out a puff with his friends.......
But a bozo gets depressed when he realizes what a fathead he had been while he had spend almost all of his savings on some smart girl who was smart enough to ditch him for next bozo with bulging billfold...... ;-)

***A guy named “Shashi Mannumparambil” felt ashamed of his name which is in regional language and thus consulted his friends for adivice. According to his friends's wish he converted his name into a “MASTH” English name “Shashi Sand Field” which unfortunately meant the same.....  :-O ;-D

So on goes the dumb little day to day findings of the innocent idle mind..... stay tuned for more...... ;)

Searching for the Real ME.....

All along the lane of life
I had been searching tough
Not for anything grand
But just for the Real ME.....

“Dreams are the Real ME
Once I used to believe so
To know what I really am
I used to chase my dreams....

When I was a kid of 5
I dreamt of being a STAR
To get whatever I ask for....
It would be the best life one could have....

But when I grew up
I started to know the world
Then I left the dream to be a STAR
In want of private life.....

Many more dreams I have had
I have chased and won a lot....
But still there is a question unanswered
What is the Real ME???

Am I just a bag of Biology?
That keeps on chasing dreams
Or is there more to it
From the spiritual perspective??

All along the lane of life
I had been searching tough
Not for anything grand
But just for the Real ME.....

And am still chasing a dream of finding the Real ME........ ;)

2 weeks into the corporate life........

This is the very first time that I am feeling really lost. I feel as if I am living a life with no specific targets. I am missing many things that I used to love in my student life. More than ever I am missing my past now......

Deep in my mind I used to be a little proud of myself thinking that I have somewhat creative mind and that I have some talents like painting, writing etc. which are above average. But in this new mode of life where I use my creative instincts mostly for coding I don’t know how long it will last......

Suddenly I am feeling as if I am getting old..... :-/

Anyways whatever happens, how much ever busy I get, I will try my best to keep the spark of creativity inside me aLIVE.... It is always awesome to be young.... at least everyone should be young at heart :P ;) :D

How to spend my 1st Salary???

Some selected answers I got (even without asking) for the question mentioned above:

1) Lets go partying – who else other than friends would say this (including classmates, batch mates, branch mates, schoolmates, college mates, seniors, juniors, neighbors, relatives and all)

2) Don’t go on a spending spree!! Save it for your higher studies!!! – no points for guessing, yes this is My Family’s advice

3) Some people interested in Social Service say: “It is said that you should spend 1/5th of your earnings as charity.” (And as I think - Oh at least some altruistic people still exist in this world, doomsday is not so near – they say) “Then we also expect a grand donation (almost 3/5th of my salary :-O) for the program we are organizing.” (Hmm... Thanks for your kindness, at least U spared 1/5th for my own use…. and then comes the final blow) “And when could we expect your treat son??” (Hey Mr. I am not being paid a trillion a month!!)

4) Then comes even bigger crowd consisting of friends and friends of friends of mom, Dad, Bro, Cousins and all, whom I have never met before…… They start with praising me as if I have brought the moon to the ground…. “Congratulations dear... U are terrific” (Yeah spit it out... I know what is coming…… U also need my blood that’s obvious) “So when is the treat??” (aha... I knew!! I knew!!)

OK!!! Now that’s enough!!! I could try my best not to spend a single paisa on myself. But still I couldn’t satisfy the above list even with 10 times of my first salary!! No wonder that many choose some far away places from their home, for their posting, at least for 1st couple of months…… ;-)

You are the best part of my life…

You are... the best part of my life
We are... together for the rest of life
I feel you..... when breeze brush past my lips
I see you..... in all the raining drops...

As a child, I used to play ‘THE FAMILY’
As a teen, I used to dream ‘MY FAMILY’
My Love, You make my dreams... come true...
My Love, You make me feel so proud...

With You....... no walks are long
You make....... my world a paradise
For me, You are the guiding light
For You, I would even die!!

You are... the best part of my life
We are... together for the rest of life
I feel you..... when breeze brush past my lips
I see you..... in all the raining drops...

A SANCTUARY IN THE HEART OF THE CITY

Today I was searching for a pair of socks in my wardrobe, ransacking through all the clothes in it. I took almost 10 minutes to find one sock. Then and there I knew that I have stumbled upon my next blog topic.

It is rightly said that charity begins at home. My home is in the heart of the city and I have a wardrobe in my room. My wardrobe has three sections out of which two sections are dedicated for my clothes and the bottom most section is a sanctuary. The top two sections are filled with my uniforms, casuals, formals etc. You could see my latest blazer on the hanger. The ties are neatly arranged on the bar fixed on the in side of the door. As the top sections are concerned it is pretty much usual.

But what makes my wardrobe different from the usual is the third section which is a junk yard where all the old pieces of clothes are thrown and forgotten, where my old one eyed teddy lay rotten where no one dares to clean fearing whether they would catch plague.

Third section is a sanctuary for the extinct spiders and lizards and cockroaches that come to hide from the anti-pest sprays used by my Mom. Over the years I have come to the conclusion that I am doing something great by protecting the lives of these creatures and hence I never clean my wardrobe (what an excuse!!). :P

By the way, I didn't waste any more time searching for the other sock of the pair. And there is no way that I will turn back once I decide on doing something (here wearing my shoes). So guess what?? When my Dad will search for his socks tomorrow morning, he will have a pair less to select from. :P ;) :D

A Loving Heart :D

PHOTO DESCRITPTION ;-)

The photo has a picture of a girl’s half face visible and the other half dark. Or it can be also considered as the side view of a girl’s face with her hair blown forward by wind. Being a guy, I am writing it from a guy’s point of view. So this two sided figure is enclosed in a heart which has a bright day on one side and a crescent moon night on the other side. Now into the description.....

INTERPRETATION :D

When a person is in love, the heart will be almost completely filled with the thoughts of the partner. As the face in the picture can be interpreted to be facing in completely different angles, love can have different faces. It may be as bright as a day at times or it may be as dark as a night. It may be tiresome as on a hot summer day or it may be romantic as on a moonlit night. For a love to be long lasting, the couple should understand these facts and should be ready to face the day and night of life together as a strongly bound unit. Only facing the bright side and neglecting the other side is not the right way to do it. Realize that there is no darkness without light and be ready to wade through all happiness and sorrows, together..... ;) :D

PUZZLING EXPERIENCE

One of the many absurdities of modern day Science is the theory of “worm holes”. I had recently read an article on the same.
( Article : http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/moslive/article-1269288/STEPHEN-HAWKING-How-build-time-machine.html) It is being said that there are many minute holes called worm holes, in space (not only outer space, everywhere)
These are the ends of tunnels. These tunnels connect different places or even different instances of time. It is also contemplated that if these holes are made larger, even man can pass through the tunnel and hence could attain the dream of time travel.

I had read “THE TIME MACHINE” once and after reading this article, I felt awe for the developments in Science mankind has achieved. But naturally, I forgot about it as the days passed only to be reminded after a week through a rather stupid but still puzzling experience.

For most of the people, it may seem downright stupid. But to me, who always thinks out some logical explanation for everything, there was a problem at hand. It was say around 11pm. When I went in to my bathroom, I saw a BIG BLACK BUG of the size of quarter of golf ball lying on the floor on its back trying to get upright. The door had been closed for a long time; the only window had nets installed; the drain from the wash basin and bathroom goes to pits and there are no openings in the piping; there is no question of it coming through the closet as there is water in it always. I am sure that there are no holes in the piping and even if there is then also such a bug (which is attracted to light) coming through a dark pipe of more than 10m long is next to impossible.

Next day we removed it but my mind kept on thinking for a reason as to how the bug entered the bathroom? If the bug had flied into the house, then it would have had to pass the main door and the bathroom door without being noticed which is not plausible because of the size of the bug. It couldn’t have walked in because the main door also has a primary net door with spring installed. That is how I stated thinking whether it is possible that this insect came from thin air?? Or may be through the worm hole (could there be this much big worm hole??) in the thin air….. :-o

And once this thought occurred I started thinking about the consequences of traveling in time; though we can give many advantages, the ill effects of worm hole are in plenty. Some of them to list are:

1) If worm holes are very minute as the Scientists explain, then couldn’t these holes be there inside us? So once the secret is mastered, could we sit in a lab at one place and feed some deadly viruses into the system of some human being at some other place?? The only thing that is necessary is a tunnel with one end at the lab and the other inside the target.

2) What if people are able to travel to their past? When I travel to an instant 5 years back, wouldn’t there be another me at that instant? And wouldn’t there be a void at the instant at which I started my time travel?

3) We have studied in history how one civilization invaded others. Those civilizations were separated by space. But what if some future civilizations well equipped in warfare than us travel through time and invade us??

Yes! There may be many good points but there are a lot of horrifying ill effects that stare at us in our face when we try to travel in time. Let us hope for a good future.....

TALL GUYS STORIES…….

Even when people all around you admire you for your height, it is not always delightful to be tall. To prove my point, I will give a brief description of one of my days.

The time is 8’O clock… The time is 8’O clock… The time is 8’O clock… went on the lady in the mobile with the most irksome voice I have ever heard. In half sleep I pressed somewhere (in the mobile only :-o ;) :D ) and that shut her up.

Outside, rain was celebrating the start of the monsoon season. The day was dull, damp and cold. So once again I drifted into a peaceful sleep. But not for long, there came a female mosquito cooing through my ears. I pulled up my blanket and covered my head. But then my feet were exposed and she stabbed on the tip of my toe!! Ouch!! I surged upward to get into the blanket and hit my head on the top panel of my bed!!

By now I was wide awake and stomped into the bathroom to brush my teeth. Then I went to the kitchen for my morning tea. DHUCK!!! The door of the cupboard on the wall was kept open which is perfectly positioned at a height just above my eyes. Hence I never miss a chance to get hit on the head!! If I was searching for sympathy, I was in the wrong place… lolz… My dear Mom said (as if adding salt to the wound): “Oh dear… Thank You for reminding me. I wanted you to get me some old bottles from the back of the cupboard.” :-o :(

I had tea and got to work. Cursing my fate to be longest fellow in the family I thrust my hands into the pitch dark corners of the long cupboard. Only God knew who the occupants in it were; where even the light from the torch was denied access. I removed 4 bottles successfully and while removing the 5th and the final bottle, my finger got nipped by some unhappy inhabitant for trespassing. :’(

The day’s plan was to visit my cousin brother and I thus I had my breakfast in a jiffy and got ready. Then I heard an inner voice advising me: “brace yourself… there is more to come”. I was puzzled and wondered what it meant. As I boarded the bus, the meaning became obvious. I had to stand stooping in the low roofed bus. When a man got down at a stop, I pounced onto the seat that he had left vacant. In my hurry, I missed to notice that it was just behind a ladies’ seat. Since my legs are long, my knee hit the back of the seat in front of me. A girl sitting in the seat glared and growled at me, and so did some others around me. I was in utter disgrace. :-o

These instances were enough to make me vigilant to watch my steps and tune my actions while entering the low roofed house of my cousin, where I could hear the ceiling fan hiss inches from my head.

It was a relief when we went out to a nearby pool with my cousin and his friends. I could stretch and relieve my self off the tensions of being bound indoors. We headed to the pool; “one man deep” he had said; of course I had my doubts.

All went in, splashing and laughing. I too went in. But to my dismay :-( , the pool which wet all others from toe to head 'in a go' barely touched my nose tip!!

Thankfully, that was the last problem I faced that day due to my height, excluding the low ceiling, till I saw the 5 ft 6” bed that I got to sleep in!!! :-o

Yes these are some problems faced by tall guys in their day to day lives. Some other problems are that they get caught very easily in the classes for the pranks they play or even just for laughing at the pranks played by others; when taking photos with shorter friends, it is difficult for the camera man to get both faces in the same frame etc.

But there are positives too. People remember tall guys more often, they get noticed very fast and even they can have a greater range of girl friends as height is no bar!! ;-) :D But one word of caution: always select a partner with enough height so that your face could be caught in a single frame in your wedding photo!! ;-) :D

My Lucky Break in this CrAzY wOrLD

Do you know who I am?
They call me Arty the Legend.
Do you know what I am?
They say I am a legendary artist.

Long long ago
A man named Gigo
Trudged long alleys
To fill five tummies.

He knew no trade
To earn his bread
Only his passion
Was his vocation.

Art was his blood,
Art was his soul,
A master, he was,
In his art.

His youngest lil gal
Once fell ill
Medicine costs money
But he had no money

Tried selling his works
On the broad walks
No one did stop
Even to stare!!

Without the pill
She became more ill
Gigo was in despair
As the lil girl expired.

He tried and tried
But never thrived
He grew old and died
Without a Lucky Break.

Today world knows him
As Arty the legend
His works cost millions
If not trillions.

Had I a $10,
Could have saved my daughter
I got a Lucky Break,
Too late in this Crazy World.

The concealed emotions of an Elder Brother

On the day of accident (11:50pm)

Oh God please save my Brother! Please spare his life!! Please bring him back to normal... Oh God… he is my only sibling and I care for him more than I show outside....

Oh God don’t you know that whenever we fight, I never take it to my heart? Sometimes when he goes n irritating me, I would have told him – “You are a little pest”. But, oh God!! Every time deep in my heart, haven’t I vouched that I don’t mean it and haven’t I prayed for My Brother’s well-being all along??

Don’t you remember? Day before yesterday also when he kept on irritating me, I felt like telling the dreadful dialogue. But I thought why tell such a thing if I don’t mean it and thus stayed mute. Then I understood he was just pulling my legs and just prayed for his good.

Today evening when I started my studies for tomorrow’s course viva, I got My Dad’s call. Ohh... My heart skipped several beats and there I stood, temporarily paralyzed. My Dad and Bro met with an accident?? Bro’s condition is damn serious?? Rush to the hospital with My Mom?? :-o :’(

How serious??? What happened?? A hell lot of questions echoed in and through my head. I had a hard time fighting the blurredness from my eyes while riding my bike to the hospital.

God do you know how horrible I felt when I visited My Brother in the casualty?? Oh God!! Today I really felt like hugging My Bro and kissing him on his forehead. I wanted to tell him - “Don’t worry my little Bro, we all are here, above all God is here to protect you. You will get well soon my dear”. I wanted to tell him how important he was to me, how much I cared for him.... :’( But.... Oh God... as you know, public exhibition of affection is absent in our family. Also I didn’t want to hurt him by hugging as he had many broken bones. And My Bro was in the midst of wires, oxygen mask plugged to his face and surrounded by Doctors and nurses. I didn’t get a chance to tell what I wanted, but our eyes met for a few eternal seconds. All I could do was to give a not so weak smile and show a thumps up sign. Even being in pain, My Bro returned my smile...

God... I will never despise you because I know how much worse it could have been. And I know that you know all the things that I a telling, but still I feel better when I tell you myself.

Days passed.....

God... Thank You for making My Bro’s conditions better. But still I didn’t get a chance to tell him how much I care for him. And do you know what I heard today?? Some one was suggesting that we check My Bro’s and My horoscopes and find whether it is bad luck caused due to the problems of our horoscopes. Do you know how hard it is to hear such a thing?? How dumb suggestion!! When you are here, I know that nothing else matters..... And you are present everywhere.... It is that belief that keeps me going all the day.

Another thing that I noticed is that when I smile some people think I am hard, some think I am funny & stupid and there are yet anther who think I “just don’t care”. x-(

But, still I prefer smiling because it makes others life easy. And at the same time, I am thankful to you for giving me time to drain my eyes in private.... :-)

Days passed......... And God showed his greatness again!! :D

Thank You God for giving me such a wonderful family and friends...... :-) God is great..... :D

My faded Jade.....

It is time for me, to forget someone
Whom I loved, more than myself...

She was neither a sibling nor my blood
More was she, she was my life

All my yearnings, all my plans
Come to an end, on this day

Today’s sacrament is not her wedding
It is, but, cremation of my soul

From the school days, she filled my thoughts
She was my Princess, in all my dreams

Many emotions, we did share
Adore, I did, her dimpled smile

She formed my days, and my nights
I found my future, in my Jade

She could read my feelings, I guessed
Hence, never I opened my sinned heart

Time passed and proved me wrong
Never she discerned, my inner craving

Here dawns her new life
And here sets my love life

I weep at nights, for my faded Jade
Life ahead is of dark and gloom

It is time for me, to forget someone
Whom I loved, more than myself...

College life at its twilight......

It is a pity that we know only very little about the fourth dimension, i.e, the dimension of duration or time. Had I had a time machine, I could have experienced my college life over and over again hmmmm…… How nice it would have been…..

But even if I don’t have a time machine, I can relive the past in my memories using my MIND MACHINE!! ;)

These days I seem to travel a lot through the little cherished sweet memories of my campus life. When I lie on my couch with my eyes closed, breathing deeply in/out… in/out…. with a pleasant smile on my face….. and then it BEGINS!! On the screen of my mind flashes numerous scenes as in a movie trailer, highlighting the best parts of the movie…. And in it I see numerous characters that once were none other than strangers to me, but once I got to know them, transformed myself to what I am, with their everlasting charisma… Wise men say that in this world, where mighty dinosaurs failed to survive and even Hercules perished, nothing is everlasting. But still, MY FRIENDS…. the values you have induced in me, the wisdom I have imbibed from you…. will always remain with me, within me, making me remember every single one of you throughout my lifetime….. I thank ALMIGHTY, MY FRIENDS and MY TEACHERS for making my college life such a memorable one.

FOR THE PEOPLE? BY THE PARTY??

The different reasons political parties find out to stage protests are just hilarious and the way in which they carry out their protests adds to the despair than the cause. The harthal in Kerala a couple of days back was one of the kinds. And when such things are ‘State Sponsored’ it is the worst people could get.

Some of the things people witnessed include a mother (working in LIC office) being locked up in the office and unable to feed her child, thousands of people stranded at railway stations without food, water and transportation, people (even ambulances) including doctors going to attend emergencies being blocked on their way and so on goes the list of barbaric deeds.

So what were the so called ‘Role Model Leaders’ doing at that time?
Tintumon: Yes!! Yes!! They must have been leading from the front!! Weren’t they?? (Dumbest answer we can ever get!! Duh…)

Nope! Many were attending functions and others were attending meetings in AC rooms and travelling by AC cars, while the party supporters (under the red hot sun) were having a hard time making the lives of common people a misery.

Blogs are also meant to express our opinions and I feel pity about my own state. It is a shame that such dumb things are taking place in the state with highest literacy rate!! I wouldn’t blame the Leaders! No, no, that I wouldn’t!! They are doing this for feeding their own selfish motives. But how could the literate party supporters do such a thing?? What do they attain by spoiling the day and tampering with the emotions of the general public? The only thing they achieved is the hatred of those affected people; thorough the unintelligible way of protest.

The key to the solution for this grave problem is in the hands of the party supporters who cause all the trouble hearing the words of their beloved and selfish leaders. When the supporters learn to see the things clearly then only we can hope for a civilised, meaningful and effective protest. Leaders and parties should find out new and innovative ideas to voice their protests instead of wasting the valuable time of people in this modern time imperative world.

MY FIRST JOB INTERVIEW EXPERIENCE

.

Hai FRIENDsssss...... I am writing this because I hope this will help some goin' to attend their first interview...

Copany: TCS

Day 1

Online Aptitude Exams commenced at 11:15am for the first batch. My name was in the 2nd list. So I took the exam at 1pm. When I wrote the English section, I was a litle worried because I have only 60% accuracy in that section. But I kept on encouraging myself. I din't get tensed THANK GOD! Maths and Logic my favourite sections were yet to come. As I had hoped, Maths and Logic were a cake walk. And at the end the PC displayed "Congratulation!! You have qualified TCS aptitude exam!"

Day 2

Interview 1: Technical Round (10:45am)

Went really tensed. But once I reached the Interviewer's desk, I became confident and answered evrything (techenical questions in C, C++) well. I had written Drawing and Paitning as one of my Hobbies. So he asked me to draw his face. But what I usually do is not caricature. I told him so. But he wanted me to try. He he he..... I drew..... And he was shocked to see the face I drew..... But he said he liked my cofidence and asked me to wait for HR round.

Interview 2: HR Round 1 (12:10pm)

It started with an unexpected activity, something that we usually get in our 1st year from seniors. I was asked to introduce myself to some junior girls. He he he..... One thing I learned is that even if your interviewer is sitting in front of you, stand up before you introduce yourself even to some juniors. I did not stand up thinking that it will not be nice to stand without the interviewer's permission. But he made me stand. :D Then I got the old drill. Strengts, weaknesses etc. He also checked what I knew about TATA Group as a whole. Then he enquired whether I have any questions. I asked all that I wanted to ask. He seemed a litle impressed, but I was a litle doubtful thinking whether I had messed up.

Interview 3: HR round 2 (2pm)
Here 3 of us were summoned together ( other 2 were girls). The interviewer asked whether we know to sing. The girls said that they know and like to sing. I thought I will be truthful as always. And siad I like drawig but not singing. Then I heard a command: "You are given 30sec to think. When I say start, you should sing one song each to these girls!!" I had no other choice now. And I was determined to DO IT!! So why turnback now?? If I sing, it is not me who suffers!!! It is those who are listening to it. He he he..... I knew it perfectly well. So sang 2 songs..... :D Now we were given a chance to ask some questions. Both the girls asked the same questions they had asked to the previous interviewer. I thought I will be truthful yet again..... And said I had asked many questions to the previous interviewer and now I don't have anything to ask. That did me in!! The girls were allowed to leave. But I was asked to stay. Then Sir said that my communication skills are OK but I should polish the way I talk. It was neither problem of my accent nor my vocab. But I think I made myself look as a shy guy or so without asking Qs. So friends.... Ask Qs when you are given a chance, even if you know the answers to it better than the interviewer....

Results: 7pm

I GOT SELECTED :D THANK GOD!!! :D

An Old Creation (3)

.

An OPEN Friend Request...!! :-)

In a short span of time,
Here and there we would be scattered.
Most friendships are like mangoes,
As the clock ticks,
It grows in size,
As the college life ends,
It would be ripe and sweet,
But then it falls, to the ground beneath
And lay there quite forgotten,
Alas' with time, it decays!
"Time is a stranger,
It waits for none"- advices my Grandpa
I feel it’s truer in friendship.
So be my friend n STAY MY FRIEND...
Keep in touch A.L.W.A.Y.S. :-)
Take Care... my dear friend...!!
May GOD Bless U...!! :-)

An Old Creation (2)

Love and care varies in meaning from person to person. Love and care in "u'r sense" may seem "senseless" 2 othrz.
